This clean install offers maximum comparability although all Apps must be reinstalled.<\/li>\n<li>In-place upgrades from Windows 7 &amp; 8.x to Windows\u00a010. This preserves user data although there can be comparability issues.<\/li>\n<li>Windows ICD (Imaging and Configuration\u00a0Designer ( tool from the Windows ADK (Automated Deployment Kit).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.davidpapkin.net\/deploying-windows-10-in-the-enterprise-by-david-papkin\/windowsadk-2\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1516\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-1516\" src=\"https:\/\/www.davidpapkin.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/WindowsADK-1-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"Windows ADK by David Papkin\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Microsoft Windows ADK includes:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"bulleted-list\">\n<li>The Windows Assessment Toolkit and the Windows Performance Toolkit to assess the quality and performance of systems or components.<\/li>\n<li>Several deployment tools such as WinPE, Windows Imaging and Configuration Designer (Windows ICD), and other tools to customize and deploy Windows 10 images.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Some deployment methods are sometimes referred to as lite-touch installations (LTIs) and zero-touch\u00a0installations (ZTIs). LTIs require a small amount of user or administrator intervention, whereas ZTIs do\u00a0not\u2014they are completely automatic. For example, in LTIs, the user or administrator has to turn on the\u00a0device and press a function key to help the installation get started, In ZTI, you can use Wake On LAN\u00a0technology to turn on a device and push the operating system to it. Do not associate LTIs with MDT and\u00a0ZTIs with Configuration Manager.
